What to Expect

What to Expect

Sunday Gathering

We know it can sometimes be awkward to visit a new place. Here are some frequently asked questions to help you know what to expect. If you have a question that you don’t see addressed on this page, feel free to contact us.

What should I wear?

Most people dress casually but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable. We are pretty sure the way you dress doesn’t matter to God so it doesn’t matter to us.

How long is the Sunday Gathering?

We meet for Sunday Gathering at 10:00 am. The entire morning lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

What happens at a Gathering?

A typical Gathering starts with participatory music led by our house musicians and singers. You are welcome to sing along with the words shown on the screen at the front of the room.

Our approach to discipleship (following Jesus) uses three levels of learning.

META: Our speaker will give a brief bible teaching that presents a main idea from the day’s Scripture.

REFLECTION: We often join in a group dialogue about the day’s topic.  We reflect on what the bible says about the topic and its implications for us personally and communally.

EXPERIENCE: Our final aim is to align our lives with some practical application of the topic.

We respond with communion, prayer ministry and worship singing.

What do I have to do?

Just come in, relax, and enjoy. We won’t make you say anything. That said, you’ll get the most out of your time with us if you choose to participate.

Do I have to bring anything?

We will be serving coffee or tea and treats on the First Sunday each month. Feel free to bring your own water bottle or hot beverage. If you have a Bible feel free to bring it, if not, you’ll see all the day’s bible references in your program.

What do I do with my kids?

We run a kids program from 9:30am-10am on Sundays while adults gather to pray. During our Sunday Gathering children are welcome to enjoy an arts activity to keep their bodies and minds engaged. We encourage children’s wholehearted participation in worship singing and group dialogue. We welcome their wisdom and thoughtful observations.

What is your music like?

Our music is considered contemporary and is easy to sing along to. We do a variety of music such as Vineyard, Bethel, Hillsong, Upper Room, Housefires, Gospel, Soul, and remixes of older hymns. If you don’t know the words, don’t worry, they will be projected onto the screen at the front of the room.
